Skibinskipedia™ is the online wunderkammer of B Dean Skibinski, a graphic designer and writer based in New York City. A creative duo called Lightboys, comprised of designer / craftsman Jirko Bannas and publisher / creative director Oliver Seltmann, has been working for two years to create perfect backlighting for the display of large-scale photographs, seeking “an ultra-flat, bright and uniformly illuminated lightwall.” They’ve overcome the technical hurdles and produced the Polaboy, an LED-backlit photographic frame that is a direct 10:1 scaling up of a Polaroid snapshot.
